Today as I ponder, I am looking out to the sea, I think it’s the Tasman Sea. It’s about 6am and the sun has just risen, creating the most amazing shine across the water. I am walking along the beach, there are many people out exercising, surfing, or just soaking up the environment and all that it brings. As I look out to the ocean, my sense of smell is strong. I smell the salt, I smell the seaweed, I smell the strong scent of the ocean – it’s not offensive, but just familiar. As I stare out, my vision is also alerted to a very distant small island. The island, whilst clearly visible, looks far away, but not so far away it cant be reached. What I see on the island is a silhouette of someone standing on top of it. It looks like they too are staring out to sea and pondering just like me. I am pondering what this person’s vision is, what they see, what they feel and what they want to achieve. I feel a weird sense of energy that thinks this person wants change, and that now is the time to make epic things happen. I hear myself saying I want this too, yes I am ready for change too. So now I am pondering my vision, and what I see is a big change. I feel lifted, excited and I hear myself say, go for it. So now I am pondering, how can I make this happen? A quote by Tony Robins comes into my head, “It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped”. So I ask myself, what is my next step, what is the path I am going to take? I drill this down to 3 key questions to help me move forward: what will I focus on; what does this decision mean to me; and what actions do I need to take next.
If you have been pondering change, seek a new vision in life and want something so much more than you have right now, then make the decision to. This decision is truly the first step to determine your destiny, and the new path you need to get you there. “You can get busy dying or you can get busy living” (Shawshank Redemption) – what new decision will you make today to change your life tomorrow?
